With mental health issues on the rise and at all time high levels, what if part of the solution to curb symptoms was actually focused on your body not your mind.
The human nervous system innervates all of the tissues of the body and that’s a lot of nerves from the neck down that are not part of your mental brain.
With much of mental health focus being on the mind it’s sort of continues to put the attention in the wrong place and leads to very little improvement for many.
This is the work I’m doing with people in ‘When the Body Talks’ we are rebalancing the system as a whole by shifting focus on listening to the body through many nervous system signals that are overlooked or suppressed.
When the whole system is online and working in balance people's lives transform mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
The skills and practices of listening to YOUR individual body in really time are missing for many people in today’s society and it’s time to bring these skills attention.
Message me with any questions or comments on this topic.
And if you want to be part of the next round of my program When the Body Talks we begin January 13th at the link in my bio.

Nervous system work goes into the foundation.
It does not matter what detailed or advanced work you do if the foundation isn’t there to hold it.
If you have often felt you are repeating the same patterns over and over in life even after trying to shift and change then it maybe time to really sit with the state of your nervous system.
Are you aware?
Are you running automations?
Are you in fight, flight, freeze?
Are you present?
This is a great place to start working if you are at the beginning of change in life or if you are looping the same things again.
Maybe you have a lot of tools and skills but they just aren’t working, maybe you feel you have no skills or tools and are so overwhelmed you do not know where to start.
Nervous system work is a place to focus no matter what.
Since May is mental health awareness month it’s a great time to highlight how the state of your nervous system determines the lens you mentally and emotionally experience life through.

Coming out of Survival Mode
Twice in the past week people have told me I look “better” one asked if I lost weight the other asked if I filled in and gained weight. Lol hint weight is not the answer.
The last time they each saw me I was still in the midst of chaos and survival mode last fall/winter. And it showed on my body. High cortisol making me puffy, my skin was dull, the felt sense of my energy was down. I was barely sleeping, and had no appetite.
I know and understand what each of them was noticing and mentioning to me. I’m improved now and it’s both felt in my nervous system and visible in my body.
How have I shifted this the past few months? Practice.
I got back on the mat at square 1 and made a daily commitment to practice listening to my body. To reconnect to the awareness of my hunger, thirst, fatigue, urge to move and over all intuition of what I need and when I need it.
Spending a few months in an activated state of fight or flight survival mode was healthy and an appropriate fit to what my lived reality was AND that’s not a place to stay long term. It’s important to take note when enough is enough and start participating in guiding your nervous system and body out of that state. A little bit here and a little bit there day by day.
I’ve practiced this in my life many times. It’s a foundation for my nervous system now and gives me confidence and trust that I know how to move with myself through whatever life brings my way.
It’s also what lead to the creation of my group program When the Body Talks. I will teach this program again starting in July 2025.
